How to maintain your house line?

Home linens, whether bed linen, table linen or bath linen, play an essential role in our daily lives by providing comfort, softness and style in our interior. However, to preserve their beauty and quality, it is important to maintain them properly. In this guide, we will provide you with tips and tricks for taking care of your OGO Living home linens.

Washing OGO Living table linen daily

Before washing your linens, start by sorting items by color. Separate light colors from darker colors to avoid fading. Then, inspect the items for stains and pretreat if necessary.

To keep your table linen clean and like new, here are our maintenance tips. When washing your linen in the washing machine, it is recommended to use a program adapted to the fabric. We recommend a washing program with lukewarm water, ideally 40°. For detergent, we advise you not to use too much, to avoid residue on the linen which would reduce its softness. To preserve the quality of your linen, opt for gentle and non-aggressive washing products. Special detergents for delicate fabrics are ideal for taking care of your table linen. Avoid using fabric softener on napkins as this can reduce their absorbency.

After washing

Choose the right drying mode for each type of fabric. Towels can be air dried or machine dried on a low heat. Tablecloths can be hung to dry naturally. If using a dryer, remove the laundry as soon as it is dry to avoid wrinkles. You can also iron some products on a low heat to remove wrinkles.

Once your linens are clean and dry, make sure to store them properly to avoid creases, deformations and direct sunlight. We recommend putting them in a dry, ventilated place away from the sun.

For a grease stain

  1. Absorbing Excess Grease: First, use a paper towel or clean cloth to gently dab the grease stain. Do not rub, as this may spread the stain.
  2. Sprinkle with Baking Soda : Sprinkle the stain generously with baking soda. Baking soda is an excellent grease absorber and will help remove the stain.
  3. Apply Marseille Soap: Apply a little Marseille soap directly to the grease stain. Gently rub the soap on the stain to soak it well.
  4. Rub Gently: If the stain is persistent, use a clean toothbrush to gently rub the soap into the stain. Be careful not to rub too vigorously as this may damage the fabric.
  5. Wash in Warm Water: Then, machine wash the item in warm water using your usual detergent. Be sure to follow the care instructions on the laundry label.
  6. Check the Stain: If the stain persists, repeat the previous steps.

For a wine stain

  1. Absorbing Excess Wine: If the stain is fresh, start by gently blotting the area with a paper towel or clean cloth to absorb as much of the wine as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain.
  2. Rinse with Cold Water: Once you have absorbed as much of the wine as possible, rinse the stained area thoroughly with cold tap water. The cold water will help dilute and remove the wine.
  3. Sprinkle with Salt: Sprinkle the stain generously with salt. Salt helps absorb any remaining wine and can help prevent stubborn stains.
  4. Pretreat with Marseille Soap: Apply a little Marseille soap directly to the wine stain. Gently rub the soap into the stain to soak it well.
  5. Leave to act: Leave the soap on the stain for a few minutes to allow its cleaning agents to work.
  6. Wash in Warm Water: Machine wash the item in warm water using your usual detergent. Be sure to follow the care instructions on the laundry label.
  7. Check the Stain: If the stain persists, repeat the previous steps.
